Common Traffic Stop Phrases
"I am not driving, I am traveling. " | Adherents claim that the legal definition of "driving" only applies to commercial freight transport, meaning driver's licenses and vehicle registrations do not apply to private movement.
"Am I being detained, or am I free to go?" | Repeated persistently to challenge an officer's authority to ask basic identification questions.
"I do not consent." | A blanket phrase believed to legally invalidate any police command, search, or ticket.
"Do you have an injured party or a victim?" | The core argument that a crime cannot exist without a specific, physically harmed individual or damaged property.
Courtroom and Legal Arguments
"I am the living man, not the corporate entity." | Believers distinguish between their physical self ("living man") and the government-created legal person ("strawman") whose name is written in all-capital letters on birth certificates and court documents.
Admiralty and Maritime Law Claims | Arguments asserting that domestic courts are actually functioning under commercial or maritime law (often indicated by gold-fringed flags in the courtroom), invalidating standard criminal or civil procedures.
Punctuation and Red Ink | Filing documents using specific punctuation (such as colons or brackets around names) and signing paperwork with red ink or thumbprints to signify a rejection of standard government contracts.
Legal Reality
Courts and law enforcement agencies uniformly reject these arguments. Judges treat sovereign citizen scripts as legally meritless, and invoking them during traffic stops or court proceedings does not exempt individuals from statutory laws, fines, or arrest.
